A new addition behind the existing building will hold a gymnasium and a two-story classroom wing. A new sunken courtyard area will help brighten up the basement-level lunchroom and create a plaza entrance for the community into the new gym. A new driveway entrance off Herschel Avenue will provide vehicle turn-around space and lead to a student drop-off area. The soccer field will be shortened but will remain in use; a new 31-space parking lot will be added at the end of the field. Kilgour's renovation and addition will be respectful of the 83-year-old building's architecture, keeping the existing white-pillared facade and duplicating the building's red brick and arched windows on the addition.

A sunken courtyard will open off the basement lunchroom and lead up into the entrance plaza to the new gym.
