Follow the progress as a new home for Midway is built on a new site on
Glenmore Avenue. New
photos will be added regularly.
March 2005
– The left photo shows that the mechanical room
is well underway with installation of HVAC piping. On the right, the
exterior brickwork of north end of the academic area nears completion.
January 2005
– Metal stud
framing on the east side of the academic area nears completion. On the right the common area roof nears
completion and scaffolding has been erected for the start of exterior
brick work.
November 2005
– On the left, the plumbing contractor
begins the "rough-in" for bathrooms on the first floor of the academic
area. On the right, the general contractor prepares to pour the 2"
topping slab for two classrooms on the second floor of the academic
area.
September 2004
– The east academic area exterior east wall
nears completion and awaits steel erection. On the right, the
gymnasium wall is being erected.
August 2004
– A portion of the slab has been poured in the
Academic Area and workers are putting up interior walls. The
underground feeding the main electrical room is complete and panel
cans now are being installed.
June 2004
– The Northwest parking
lot has been brought to sub-grade level with suitable and stable
material. In the photo on the right, the earth work contractor has
completed the Academic Area portion of the building pad and awaits the
results of the settlement monitors. This area is anticipated to be
released soon for footings and foundations.
May 2004
– Contractors continue to
use existing roads for entering the project site. These roads will be
demolished upon installation of the new drive which is anticipated to
start in the near future. The earthwork contractor continues to haul
in suitable materials for the parking lot sub-base.
April 2004
– On the left, the earthwork contractor continues to remove unsuitable
material in the Northwest parking lot, while on the right suitable
stable material is being stock piled to be used under the new drives
and parking lots.
March 2004 –
The earthwork contractor is currently working on the east side of the
multi-use field preparing this location for the temporary silt basin
designed for drainage during construction. In the photo on the right,
the earthwork contractor is installing the geogrid and stone for the
preparation of the undercut required in the building pad area.
