At Cincinnati Public Schools, we want our students to become contributing members of the work force, with opportunities to enter higher education and to launch successful careers.
Per Ohio law, work permits are required for all students under the age of 18 who want to work during the school year. Students who are 14-15 years old must have permits to work anytime throughout the year.
To receive a work permit, a student must complete an application form, obtain approvals from their potential employers and from parents or legal guardians; provide a birth certificate; and, if the job requires a physical, a physician's certificate.
- Application for Minor Work Permit Form (also available at any CPS school)
- Physician's Certificate (required for students who must take physicals for employment purposes)
