

A brief look at the Cincinnati Public Schools' Board of Education's meetings, compiled by the Public Affairs Department.
Board members present: President Eileen Cooper Reed, Vice President Melanie Bates, Eve Bolton, Susan Cranley, Michael Flannery, Catherine Ingram and Chris Nelms
Superintendent Mary Ronan and Assistant Treasurer Teresa Johnson attended.
The Board's meeting began at 7 p.m. in the Education Center, the district's headquarters in Corryville.
Students from Carson School led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance, then sang two songs for the Board. Principal Ruthenia Jackson spoke to the Board about her school.
APPROVED a resolution approving project schedule and estimated cost for the new Chase School. The new school will be built on Chase's former Northside campus, as part of the district's Facilities Master Plan.
APPROVED a resolution approving the schematic design for the new Aiken High School, part of the district's 10-year Facilities Master Plan.
APPROVED a resolution awarding bids for five bid packages related to the construction of the new Hoffman-Parham School (also called the new Evanston School):
APPROVED a resolution adopting a revised amended Policy No. 3324 (Determination of Lowest Responsible Bidder) and adopting amended Policy No. 3325 (Equal and Fair Opportunity in Contract Employment and Business Opportunities for General Purposes) related to the Accelerated Urban School Building Assistance Program.
APPROVED the revised superintendent's report.
ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Student Achievement Committee meeting on Monday, September 14, 2009.
ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Committee of the Whole meeting Wednesday, September 16, 2009.
APPROVED the treasurer's revised report.
