

A brief look at the Cincinnati Public Schools' Board of Education's meetings, compiled by the Public Affairs Department.

Superintendent Mary Ronan and Treasurer Jonathan Boyd attended.
The Board's meeting began at 7 p.m. in the Education Center, the district's headquarters in Corryville.
Students from Woodford Paideia Academy led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance. Principal Cindi Menefield spoke to the Board about the school.
APPROVED a resolution approving project schedule and estimated cost for the new Chase School. The new school will be built on Chase's former Northside campus, as part of the district's Facilities Master Plan.
APPROVED a resolution awarding contracts for three bid packages to create swing space for Sayler Park School for use while the building is renovated:
APPROVED a resolution authorizing the start of bidding for six packages for the renovation of the Western Hills/Dater high schools campus.
APPROVED a resolution accepting the donation of 400-seat bleachers for the Glenn Sample Field on the Western Hills/Dater high schools campus from the Association of West High Alumni Athletes, the Alumni Association Foundation and the West High Athletic Boosters. The groups are donating $53,000 for improvements at the field.
APPROVED a resolution for permanent appropriations for the 2009-10 fiscal year.
APPROVED a name change for Western Hills Design Technology High School to Western Hills Engineering High School.
APPROVED the revised superintendent's recommendations including:
ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Partnership/Public Engagement Committee meeting on August 24, 2009.
ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Finance Committee meeting on Sept. 10, 2009.
ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Partnership/Public Engagement Committee meeting on Sept. 10, 2009, which focused on discussion of a name change for the School for Creative and Performing Arts.
APPROVED the treasurer's revised report.
