

A brief look at the Cincinnati Public Schools' Board of Education's meetings, compiled by the Public Affairs Department.
Board members present: President Eileen Cooper Reed, Vice President Melanie Bates, Eve Bolton, Susan Cranley and Catherine Ingram
Absent: Michael Flannery, Chris Nelms
Superintendent Mary Ronan and Treasurer Jonathan Boyd attended.
The Board's meeting began at 7:05 p.m. in the Education Center, the district's headquarters in Corryville.
Students from Winton Montessori School led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance, then told the Board about how the school moved up a category on the 2008-09 Ohio Report Card. Whitney Simmons is principal at Winton Montessori.
APPROVED a resolution approving stops for yellow buses for the 2009-10 school year.
APPROVED a resolution approving the list of students whose parents are eligible for monetary reimbursement from the district in lieu of the district providing transportation to and from school.
APPROVED a resolution approving the schematic design of the new Silverton Paideia Academy.
APPROVED a resolution extending the contract of Treasurer Boyd for two additional years beginning Aug. 1, 2010 and ending July 31, 2012.
APPROVED a resolution declaring an urgent necessity to award a contract for loose furnishings for the renovated Dater Montessori School to
APPROVED the superintendent's recommendations.
ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Committee of the Whole meeting on Oct. 7, 2009, which focused on discussion of the Superintendent's evaluation.
APPROVED the treasurer's report.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
The Board's next regular meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2009, at the district's headquarters, 2651 Burnet Avenue, Corryville.
