Board members present: President Eileen Reed, Vice President Melanie Bates, Susan Cranley, John Gilligan, Catherine Ingram, Florence Newell and Rick Williams.
Superintendent Rosa Blackwell and Treasurer Jonathan Boyd attended.

The Board's meeting began at 7:07 p.m. in the Education Center, the district's headquarters in Corryville.

Board Action

APPROVED the superintendent's recommendations, including

  • Assigning Derryl King as principal at Ethel M. Taylor Academy, from her position as principal at Heberle School (now closed), effective August 1.
  • Assigning Debra Klein as principal at Mt. Washington School, from her position as interim principal at Carthage Paideia Academy, effective August 1.
  • Assigning Whitney Simmons as principal at Winton Montessori School, from her position as principal at North Avondale Montessori School, effective August 1.
  • Assigning the following people as assistant principals, effective August 1:
  • APPROVED a resolution awarding a contract for work related to construction of the new John P. Parker School:

    APPROVED a resolution detailing the schedule and cost for the new $16.1-million John P. Parker School, which is being built on the school's current campus on Anderson Place in Madisonville.

    APPROVED a resolution approving the schematic design for the new Sands Montessori School.

    ACCEPTED the report of the Board's Finance Committee meeting on Monday, June 25, 2007.

    APPROVED the treasurer's report.

    The meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.

    The Board's next regular meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at district headquarters, 2651 Burnet Avenue, in Corryville.
