The following programs provide opportunities and support to help students grow socially, emotionally and physically.
Credit Flexibility — This program shifts the focus from evaluating a student’s learning based on ‘seat time’ to assessing their demonstrated academic and skill level or performance.
Gifted — Gifted classes are offered throughout the district for students who perform at exceptionally high levels or show the potential to do so. This program also provides additional services that help teachers and schools better meet the students’ educational needs.
English-Language Learners (ELL) — With 63 languages other than English being spoken by CPS' students and families, the Welcome Center for English-Language Learners (ELL) is designed to make them feel welcome and provide tools to help them achieve high academic standards in English.
Rosetta Stone — Cincinnati Public Schools’ students, staff and parents now have Rosetta Stone - an online language-learning program - free at their fingertips.
Military Outreach — The Education Outreach Program, sponsored by the Ohio National Guard, aims to identify young people in our schools who have family members serving in the U.S. military, and to provide these youngsters with resources, information and opportunities to ensure success in school and in life.
Project Connect — Founded in 1996, this program provides specialized educational services and lifestyle enrichment opportunities for children experiencing homelessness.
Student Exchange Program — Cincinnati Public Schools is building an exciting relationship with New Taipei City, Taiwan, as part of Cincinnati’s Sister City Project.
Summer Learning — Cincinnati Public Schools provides students with the opportunity to continue to build on academic success over the summer months. Partnerships with the community engage and enrich students with fun activities to provide a well-rounded summer experience.
