State Report Card

In 2000, the Ohio Department of Education began issuing report cards rating the state's public school districts, including Cincinnati Public Schools.

A Kilgour student completes a classroom assignment.

The Report Card measures Ohio school districts against 30 indicators, which include student performance on state achievement tests, student attendance rate and the district’s graduation rate. Report cards are issued for a district as a whole and for individual schools.

Districts are placed in one of five categories: Academic Emergency; Academic Watch; Continuous Improvement; Effective; and Excellent.

The report cards' objective is to provide parents and community members with information about how well their local schools are doing, where they are succeeding and where there is need for improvement.
